Westside (8-7) wins a thriller vs. Crescent by a score of 6-5 to improve to 2-0 in the Bear Spring Break Classic. With the win, the Rams should advance to the championship game of the tournament on Thursday. Karson Lindner (2-0) gets the win on the mound, and Luke Boyce earns his second save.
Crescent scored 1 in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Westside answered with a 4-run 2nd inning, highlighted by an RBI single by Austin Blakely, and 2 out RBI hits from Tyler Scott and Noah Robinson. Westside tacked on another run in the 4th thanks to a solo Home Run by Mikey Scott.
An RBI 2B by Luke Boyce scored a 6th run for the Rams in the 6th inning. However, Crescent would answer in the bottom half of the inning with a monster Grand Slam. Luke Boyce then entered the game on the mound and found a way to get two outs before any more damage was done.
Westside was held scoreless in the 7th. In the bottom half of the last inning, Crescent reached base to lead off the inning, but a 5-4-3 DP stopped the threat, and the Rams came away with the win.
Karson Lindner struck out 7 and only surrendered one earned run in the outing.
